Wide, Spaced-Out Text From a Single Unicode Block

This isn't a custom font — every character is swapped for its counterpart in Unicode's Halfwidth and Fullwidth Forms block (U+FF00–U+FFEF), which is why the wide look survives being pasted into any plain-text field, with no font installation required.

Where does fullwidth text actually come from?

Fullwidth Latin characters were originally added to Unicode for compatibility with East Asian computing systems, where CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) characters are drawn at a fixed, wider cell than standard Latin letters. Encoding a fullwidth Latin alphabet let text mixing Latin and CJK characters stay visually aligned in monospaced layouts. The vaporwave and aesthetic-text trend later adopted these same code points purely for their wide, spaced-out look.

Does this convert numbers, spaces, and punctuation too?

Letters (a–z, A–Z) and digits (0–9) all have fullwidth Unicode equivalents and convert automatically. Spaces convert too, but not to a fullwidth space — they become an em space (a slightly wider space character), which is what gives wide text its distinctive, airy look between words. Punctuation is left as regular-width characters, since this tool sticks to the letter, digit, and space range that actually looks right.

Will wide text work everywhere I paste it?

Yes, anywhere that renders Unicode — Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Discord, and most messaging apps and document editors. Keep in mind fullwidth characters take up roughly twice the horizontal space of regular text, so longer passages may wrap sooner than you'd expect in tight layouts like bios or titles.
