True Mirror Writing, Not Just Reversed Text
This goes a step further than simply reversing your text. Each character is replaced with a horizontally flipped Unicode look-alike, and the whole thing is reversed end to end — so the result looks like actual mirror writing, the kind that reads normally when you hold it up to a mirror.
Type or paste on the left, and the mirrored version appears instantly on the right. Copy it and paste it into a social bio, a message, or anywhere you want the effect.
How is this different from just reversing my text?
Reversing text only changes the order — "Hello" becomes "olleH," but every letter is still a normal, right-way-round "H," "e," "l," "l," "o." Mirroring goes further: it reverses the order and swaps each letter for its horizontally flipped Unicode counterpart, so "b" becomes "d," "p" becomes "q," and so on. If you only want the character order flipped without changing the letters themselves, the reverse text generator does exactly that.
Which letters actually get mirrored?
Unicode doesn't include a flipped counterpart for every letter, so this tool mirrors the ones with a genuine visual match and leaves the rest as-is rather than substituting something that doesn't actually look right. Letters like a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, j, k, p, q, r, s, t (lowercase) and B, C, D, E, F, G, J, K, L, N, P, Q, R, S, Z (uppercase) have solid flipped equivalents. Letters that are already roughly symmetrical when flipped — like i, l, m, n, o, u, v, w, x, y, and most uppercase letters — are left unchanged, since flipping them wouldn't look any different or a good substitute doesn't exist. Numbers and punctuation are also left as-is for the same reason.
Does this work on social media and messaging apps?
Yes. The output is plain Unicode text, not an image or special font, so it works anywhere that renders Unicode — Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Discord, WhatsApp, and basically any messaging app or text field. Everything runs locally in your browser, so nothing you type is sent anywhere.
What is mirror writing, and why does it work like this?
Mirror writing is text formed so it only reads correctly when reflected — most famously associated with Leonardo da Vinci, who wrote many of his notebooks that way. This tool recreates the effect digitally: flipping each character's shape and reversing their order reproduces what handwriting looks like when you write normally, then hold the page up to a mirror.
